Since our founding in 1866, we have served the Canon City community as ambassadors of Christ. As Methodists, we have a deep and growing love for God and for people. We know that Jesus' death and resurrection has reconciled us to to God right here and right now through His Holy Spirit.
For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:3-4)
Therefore, we consider ourselves "dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:11) because we are no longer our own but have been bought with the precious blood of Christ and are now temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 19-20). So we honor God with our bodies and our lives by doing our best to love Him by loving and serving one another, the stranger, the foreigner, and the least of these with the love of Christ.
We gather together every Sunday morning at 10am for corporate worship to give God all the glory, exalt Christ's name, and experience the healing power of the Holy Spirit. We also gather together throughout the week for fellowship, Bible study, prayer, and service to the wider community.
Mark your calendars for these great events coming up.
